so these people have been messing with my friend... dosing him and deleting his ts... was wondering if anyone wanted to hit them offline... I got their ts ip.. idk if u can do anything I just hate seeing them bully my friend just because they had a falling out...
We do not condone ddos attacks of any kind, and do not want to have any part of this. I feel bad for your friend but this is something you should do on your own behalf and not involve others. Do not post the IP, instead find a way to help prevent another attack from happening. In that case I'm sure the community can help.
Not sure if by "hit them offline" he is talking about his friends TS or the ones attacking. If it is the former then there was a misunderstanding on my part.
We???!! oooh wait, i agreed to some rules ;p
but contacting the company that host your server is indeed best idea. They should have anti ddos installed.
Also how can they delete his TS? That just weird. Never give out the root password. (TS has that too right?)
also:
Learn about security its not hard these days.
they just greifed his ts I ment to say... like deleted all his channels and most then likely wrote down alot of ips including mine so I'm waiting for them to try to do something to me
yeh I'll edit it more when I get on my pc I just wanna know what can be done because I know they will keep messing with him since they even deleted me off steam when I called them childish they even have my ip but I'm not worried about me. more worried about my friend as he is already handy capped and doesn't deserve this.. he still considered them friends even when they made fun of him.. just trying to protect him and give them a little wake up calls because it won't be the last time they do this
that's basicly the whole story
but except the ts that ddos thing how much times was that happening?
Usually Gamers that threat with DDOS are harmless and just script kiddies.
But if you want to be prepared download a copy of Kali and learn what it can do.
It will give you idea how to defend and how to attack but we totally don't condone that here! and am also not suggesting anything....but nah jokes ahead. It's good to learn some basic stuff. It's well documented and you can learn how they do it.
Also i don't know his ISP but contacting his ISP when it happens works too.
they did it to 2 people for days one kid even went and bought a new router because he didn't know what was happening and they though it was funny
ok, how do we start this.....
basic way:
In the modem/router uselessly located on 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.255....
Keeps logs about this try to find what ipadress was used.
Do in google/duckduckgo/bing whois [ipadress]
or install software like nmap
https://nmap.org/download.html
go to a public place or VPN and run a scan to that ip adress.
Find out who they are or what server they use or where it is.
then find the hosting company of that server with contact if they have one.
And then just complain to them about the DDOS. If they use a VPN or TOR then it gets more tricky.
but if they are plain amateurs then this should stop it.
also there is a way with a honeypot, but not sure how to explain that here.
ok I'll get more into this when I'm on my pc just out and about with my son lol
Do you even evidence?
With the Teamspeak, you have to configure the permissions, leaving it default is just asking for it otherwise. Plus there is a ban function there, did you not use it?
The DDoS attack should have been mitigated with your server provider (if provided) or did you host this at home? If so, then report to your ISP about it, other than that, go try what The_Cable said and that'll spook them a bit to stop.
Sounds like you need the "Teksyndicate" pfsense router for only 29.99! you get 4 vlans, 4gb ram, duo core.. but wait there's moar!
