Just got DaVinci Resolve, runs so much better then Premiere,and now Premiere feels inferior to Resolve tbh. You guys got any thoughts on the two?
Just started messing with resolve. I like it a lot for ingesting, transcodeing, and color work. Have not edited a project with it, but i am going to check it out on my next video
Does Resolve run on Linux? I know they have their Linux cluster magical rendering insanity thing, but will it just run on normal desktop Linux without any insanity?
For the free version? Nope. Only their Studio Edition that's almost $1k runs on linux. You can try to use qemu to run it or something.

Here to de-rail the train but take a look at Hitfilm 4....Its purdy sweet IMO
Resolve uses GPU acceleration for most of its activities, thus it performs better than premiere, but adobe premiere has more features, and an easier to use UI. More control means that you spend less time fighting with the application in order to get it to indirectly achieve the result that you want.
Beyond that, resolve lacks a good way to do your final export for upload to youtube.
