I live in the States and dashboard cameras aren’t very popular. I’m really thinking about getting one because the other day I was cut off and followed by a crazy person and it kind of freaked me out. Do any of you guys have one? If so, what kind and why that model? I’ve been looking on Ebay but I have no clue what to look for. Thanks everybody.

While I don't have a suggestion I do have a comment.....
Isn't it funny we have more police officers on the street than just about any time in history and yet have the worst drivers and driving habits that I've ever seen in all the years I've been driving (I got my license in 1972, yea I know...lol) but the number of distracted drivers, drivers who don't obey the law, don't know who gets to go first at a 4 way stop, don't use turn signals, drive like the road is their personal race track, and just really no regard for anyone else on the road but themselves is mind-blowing, and I never see a cop writing a ticket or even have a car stopped for a traffic violation unless there is a accident. I guess all the cops are way to busy catching big time criminals to bother with traffic enforcement, it's not glamorous enough.
The only exception I see is when there is federal grant money for seat belt enforcement (over time pay) do you see cops writing tickets.....sad.

O I know! I work 2nd shift and I constantly get harassed for "swerving". I work late.... I haven't been drinking... show me the tape of me swerving! It's ridiculous.
I also want to get dashboard cameras so I can have my own evidence just in case a power hungry cop tries to taser me for some odd reason.
You need two, front and rear facing would be the proper way to do it.

I use one on my helmet when I ride the motorcycle but it only looks where I am looking. Smart idea though. I fully support dash cams. Too many people try to run me over by not paying attention.

try the wish app.. i found mine on there for half the price of the cheepest one i can find around locally.. only down side is it didn't come with its own micro SD card and it took about a month to get to me cough cough third party china via DHL cough cough
There are a lots of dashcams out there, but a lot of the good ones use a video processing chipset called "Ambarella A7", so make sure it has that. I have a GoPro kock-off that uses this chipset and the video quality that comes out of it is fantastic.
