Dark reader users please share your color settings

I think of it like sharing a theme

I’m curious to know what others use. Do you use light colors during the day, or is it always set to dark mode

What color setup is your usual go to, and what are some other combinations you have also tried that you use every now and then

I hate white backgrounds, they hurt my eyes, day or night, so it’s dark all the time.

No setup works for every web site, so I’m often changing methods and colours for each site.

On the desktop I use “Dark Background and Light Text” first, and go back to Dark Reader when necessary.

I just use the defaults like the pleb that I am.

For those rare sites where DarkReader doesn’t do much, I turn it off and turn on HackerVision. It has its own quirks, but between the two I’m in the dark at all times.

Dark, all times.

Bright lights or bright spots can lead to “ghost images” in my eyes, which hurt.

The only change I make to Dark Reader is to disable it on certain websites that already display in a manner that Dark Reader isn’t needed.

What about daylight outside, do you have the same issue with vision?

Yes. Have to have sunglasses with me most of the year and be mindful of reflections. Sucks.

Could you use a sky-blue / aqua grey tint to get more bright blue light during the day, or does that make it more difficult clarity wise?

I worry about wearing sunglasses all the time, the theory is that your eyes will lose the ability to handle high-brightness.

Has this been a problem all your life, or did it start later, and, did you start wearing sunglasses regularly before this was an issue?

Also what is the tint on them, is it pure grey, amber (slightly yellowish)-brown, and approximately how much brightness would you guess it takes out? Have you considered a lighter shade to allow more light, and try re-adapting your eyes to slightly brighter light during the day?

If you are unaware, look into the human, or rather mammal circadian rhythm which our body has, and it works primarily on lighting cues.
