Has anyone tried powerline adapters before? I think I'm in love.
In my appartment, the wireless is all wonky, and my Mom's house is just too damned big for my wireless signal to get to my room, So I figured I'd try it out. I'm sure glad I did...
In a sentence, it's sending the network signal over your existing power lines in the house (200mbs max for my set), and so far I've had far better results than expected. Infact, I was able to get a strong signal in my room at my Mom's this weekend, in a 60+ year old house, with the craziest wiring scheme I ever did see. I didn't get a chance to try this against an N-draft wirless signal, but oh well.
I'm just tossing this out there for people who don't know these exist (I only found out over Christmas break), they are an really valid option. My set wasn't cheap, but I feel it was worth it.
Check the link for the ones I got, and a general spec on the whole thing.
