The world seems extremely dense in the trailer I’m very curious to see what kind of gameplay this lends to.

It may be bit before we know more. There is an embedded message at the end of the trailer, that does give some more info like we will be making our own characther:

It’s been over 2077 days since we announced our plan to develop Cyberpunk 2077. We released a CGI trailer, gave some interviews and… went dark. Normal Procedure for these kinds of things - you announce a game and then shut up, roll up your sleeves, and go to work. We wanted to give you The Witcher 3 and both expansions first, which is why this period of staying silent was longer than we planned. Sorry for that.

As soon as we concluded work on Blood and Wine, we were able to go full speed ahead with CP2077’s pre-production. But we chose to remain silent. Why? At some point, we made a decision to resume talking about the game only when we have something to show. Something meaningful and substantial. This is because we do realise you’ve been (im)patiently waiting for a very long time, and we wouldn’t like anyone to feel that we’re taking this for granted. On the contrary - it gives us a lot of extra motivation. The hype is real, so the sweat and tears need to be real, too :).

But, to the point. Today is the day. If you’re seeing this, it means you saw the trailer - our vision of Cyberpunk, an alternative version of the future where America is in pieces, megacoperations control all aspects of civilised life, and gangs rule the rest. And, while this world is full of adrenaline, don’t let the car chases and guns mislead you. Cyberpunk 2077 is a true single player, story-driven RPG. You’ll be able to create your own character and…, well, you’ll get to know the rest from what we show at our booth at E3. Be on the lookout for the previews!

Before we finish, you probably have some questions,

1.When?
When we told you we would only release the game when it’s ready, we meant it. We’re definitely much closer to a release date than we were back then :), but it’s still not the time to confirm anything, so patience is still required Quality is the only thing that drives us - it’s the beauty of being an independent studio and your own publisher.

2.How big?
Seriously big, but…, to be honest, we have no bloody clue at this point in time. Once we put it all together, we will openly tell you what you can expect. And we promise we’ll do this before we start talking about any pre-orders or ask anything of you.

3.Free DLC/Expansions/DRM?
Expect nothing less than you got with the Witcher 3. As for DRM, CP2077 will be 100% DRM-free on PC.

4.Microtransactions?
In a single player role-playing game? Are you nuts?

Once again, thank you for your patience. If you have a minute, do visit cyberpunk.net and share your opinion (about anything) with us. We read everything you post and we treat it very seriously.

Yours,
CD PROJEKT RED Team

Much love for CDPR. Witcher 3 is the best game i have ever seen/played (wasn’t totally sold on the first two, so if you haven’t played 3 based on those, do yourself a favour…). Never did complete it but the production quality is just amazing.

Haha. i’m a little bit further than you. Just when you think the game is wrapping up… it isn’t

More impressive i found with Witcher 3 is just the level of detail and stuff to explore in the game world. There’s so much more than just run from place A to place B to do quest.

It’s the first game world i’ve felt truly interested in exploring, because there’s so much to find and explore. It actually feels like a fully fleshed out world, rather than a map sprinkled with quest givers and gameplay areas with vast expanses of filler in between.

Hopefully Cyberpunk 2077 is similar.

I’m guessing it means we’ll have a fully populated living world like Witcher 3. Rather than just quest givers and NPCs to kill or talk to to complete fetch quests.

Hopefully.

This is different from today? Sounds like it’s just today with newer tech

These did specifically look for vehicle physics guy with levitating motorbike gif, and it seemed to specific that these vehicles are going to play key role

:man_shrugging:t2:

What I want is anakin jumps through flying cars, and fast bike :smirk:

Loved the tone…Would really love the see some gameplay, though.

looks like it will be as great of a release like watch dogs x1… if you look at the background it looks rough during the reveal

I Just started playing Witcher 3 for my second play-through last week, seems like it was good timing!

It’s pretty rare for me to be excited by game releases these days, but I am so looking forward to this releasing.

They might focus on density as opposed to being spread out like in the Witcher series. Having a really dense urban environment would be pretty sweet considering the context.

i understand that CDPR aren’t crowdfunding the game, but I really admire the lack of “leaks” and other fuckery that usually happens with games. I wish Star Citizen would move forward like this, but that’s obviously a different animal due to funding methods but it would still be nice for them to just shut up and not tease every new door and texture.

over all, I’m very excited to have another IP other than Fallout to look forward to in case 76 ends up being Fallout Sims.

I may just have had the biggest brainfart in earths history :flushed:

I thought that Detroit: Become Human was Cyberpunk 2077

Trailer kinda gives a GTA open world feel

You still think that’s going to be more than a tech demo? Cute. It’s not due to funding, it’s due to the complete lack of adequate leadership. That’s why they’re teasing everything – they don’t set priorities, at all, and the whole thing’s basically a scam (though legally they may get away with it, by chalking it up to incompetence, or because of legalese).

yeah, I should’ve added I’m not up for discussing that, nor do I want to derail the thread into a circlejerk. I was merely comparing the two approaches.

what what I thought too. I hope it isn’t flimsy gunplay and that sort of tacked on feel.
