so i own the CX750M from what i guess everyone saying this is a very low tier is refering to the green lable? im not very sure, it seems to be doing me fine with my 3 hdd. 1 ssd. oc ram cpu and gpu as well as psu and a metric ton of fans [ 16 of them ]
but i fear that maybe its not the best for this load even though calculators online and i have checked on them all still say 480 to 590 W is all i need but still, this is my first real investment for myself and uni as well as what ever i try to put my youtube into, i dont really want to have magic smoke take out all $3000 AUD of my rig.
Your system is literally drawing the absolute maximum of 350-400W. The PSU is not the best. It's not good. It's decent. As much as I dislike Corsair as a company, is an OK PSU. You don't really need to change it. PS: what case are you using?
PS2: This system is not eating 600W no matter what.
power wise you are completely fine. all of your fans and hard drives wont even take up 100 watts. however if you want to upgrade psu out of concern for your system, i would suggest https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/PFV48d/seasonic-power-supply-x1050 which yes is very much overkill. however you wont have to change power supply's for the next decade or so and seasonic is a very good brand. the only reason for doing this is fear your psu will die on you down the road killing your 3k machine, which technicallycould still happen with the seasonic beast.
My system isn't too different from yours with the same power supply and it's been fine. Over the 18 months that I've had it I've added more and bigger hardware and not noticed any deterioration in performance or issues at all.
Having said that, if it fails, I'll be moving over to one of the RM models or an EVGA PSU.
yea thansk makes me feel better at least haha i hate buying psu they are the worst to look through whats good and bad if you dont have a tier list or time to really research it against what the store u purchase gear from sells [ was physical purchase not online ]
nothing is wrong if u place the fans at the designed locations provided but if u want to fit more then 3 140 mm on the bottom floor u basically have to mod it and use acrylic or get a custom aluminium mount made as you cant really buy the mounts on their own.
I've been using that psu for about 5 years now. Never had an issue. If it dies then I just get a new one. But hasn't shows any signs of that. That being said I am suspicious of how stable it is when over clocking CPUs
