CX500M for 1055t + R9 290?

Hi guys, i'm buying a new graphics card, previously i planned to get a 770/970 so i was not very concerned with the psu and choosed a 500w Corsair which would be good enough even after i upgrade my cpu to 8350. Now i finally have the money to buy gfx card and i can get 290 about 100-120$ cheaper then the 970, but i'm not sure if my psu can handle it + OCd Phenom. I run my CPU at 3,5 without overvolting (1,375 core; 1,5 ram).

Rest of my specs:

  • Windows 10 64bit
  • Corsair 230t
  • Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0
  • Corsair CX500M
  • Phenom II x6 1055t @3,5Ghz
  • CoolerMaster 212 evo
  • Radeon HD5770 1gb
  • ADATA 2x2GB 1600
  • Samsung 840 evo 120gb
  • Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200RPM

It will most likely run, but you are pushing your psu quite a bit. If you run several synthetic benchmarks it might shut down. The 290 will draw under 250w under load on average and the rest should be under 200w under load, so id say you are looking at a typical load of 350-400w for intensive gaming. You have to keep in mind though that the peak power consumption of your system might be near 500 or even 550w as 290s can peak around 350w (for a fraktion of a second).
