Cutting back (Price) any way on my gaming PC

First I'm a first timer.

basically I'm gonna list parts, if you see any places where I'm gonna bottle neck or am overbuying it would be very much apriciated if you responded.

(note the AMD processor is 8 cores but I'm future proofing with that so don't say go down)

Corsair C70: 98$ (Cheap and keeps falling)

asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0: 180$ ( Sata 6 USB AM3)

AMD FX 8350 4GHz 193$ (easily clockable to 4.5 GHz and my personal goal is 5)

Corsair H100i 110$ (for the ludacris OC)

7970 3gb 400$ (good value some guys on the GPU forum helped me out)

Corsair Vengeance 8Gb DDR3 1600 MHz 48$ (RAM)

WD Blue 1tb Mechanical 75$ (storage cheap)

AX professional AX 850W 150$ (I think that should be enough)

2 after market fans and a blue ray drive 24$ for the fans 50$ for the Blue ray

All together is 1351 (hoping to cut it down a little bit)

Most of the stuff is off amazon with prime so cheap shipping.

Eric

You'll be pushing it to get the 8350 to 5Ghz and if you manage it the power consumption will be ridiculous. 850w if anything is to big and the motherboard can be cut down in price.

Any specific motherboard.

forgot that that includes a 120 gb SSD

kingston hyper X 120 $

Im not the best with motherboards but something like this should suffice. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128514

3.9

I'll see about that one

Found the same drive for 20$ cheaper

I have a HyperX myself, and it's been working wonders in my system so far.

Edit: And with the money you save from the motherboard Hopperbus suggested as well as this, you'll be able to fit a 7970 and give your rig a nice performance boost.

yeah that is the one. Thanks for the advice,

I agree with Hopperbus. The Corsair AX850 is overkill unless you're planning to Crossfire in the future.

eventually gonna crossfire when the second card is cheap as nails or when my system is dying from how slow it is. You sure 8 cpu's clocked at 5GHz will be able to fit on a 750W powwer supply

You don't want to cheap out on the PSU prime lesson I learned from my brother.

8 cpus? and you'll probably end up upgrading to a newer single card solution and the 7000 series cards wont be avalibe when that happens anyway

and just because the cpu has higher wattage doesnt necesarily mean its better

So then what amout of PSU should I get

Brand would also help greatly

650w-700w should be fine as the 8350 under max stress @ 5ghz just reaches 200w and the 7970 draws about 300w under load. Corsair, Seasonic and Silverstone are all reliable brands.

K got it Thanks so much for all of the advice. I'll cut back to a 750 W PSU just to be safe.
