For the past 3 years I've been working on a plastic folding table in my home office (work remote). It measured 42" x 18" and could barely hold my keyboard and monitor. So I went off to the garage and started planning the new desk.
The new desk started out as 4/4 (~⅞”) rough walnut lumber and needed to be Jointed, Planed smooth, and Sanded. In Total, it took about 3 months working 2-3 Hours night, a couple times a week. Probably could’ve gotten done in about a month if I stuck to it more regularly. Total cost was probably around $500 for the desk materials (hardware, wood, stain).
