into this with custom thumbnails?
I used to do this manually, I don't know if there's a way to automate it. I guess if you know how to do it in the command line you could write a script that would look in the folder and set the icon of .mp4 files with poster.jpg or whatever.
But you're probably just better off using something like kodi or plex to organise your media and download artwork and metadata for you.

It's because it wanting to open with the default video player. If you use VLC you can see a little previews of the episode. As far as applying the thumbnail to the video file, not too sure if it's possible.
You should be able to right click and go to properties then change icon, then choose a picture for it. Not sure if this works for video files but I used to do it with the folders.
you can do it with itunes.... but yeah... I refuse to infect my computer with that shite
Just will have to find an MP4 meta data editor...
