Custom loop Pump

What would happen if i have a 750L/h Res/pump combo and i plugged in an extra 960L/h pump into the loop ?

Would it have catastrophic effects ?

You would likely break the lower rated pump.

Why exactly would you want to do this?

The only reason to attach two pumps together is to increase the pressure head. (To drive a larger loop) For which, two identical pumps need to be used.

In a series or parallel? Doesnt really matter I suppose I certainly would never do such a thing as chances are one would be starved and end up sucking air = a bad time.

Im assuming the smaller pump is >> X2O 750 pump by XSPC. By all means nothing compared to a D5 but you will still be able to run at least 2 average sized rads + 2 blocks comfortably enough.

If you are looking to run a large loop and need good head pressure - sell off your existing pump and grab a D5 - xspc now have the tube res combos that look really good if you are that inclined.

D5/MCP655, the 750 have an incredibly high failure rate!

I was planning on

that driving the EX 240 rad and a UT60 240mm rad also but i highly doubt that it can drive that huge ut60 rad

BTW I was planning to move to custom water cooling'

so that d5 pump... pumping fluid through a 60mm thick 240mm rad and a 35mm thick 240mm rad, would you guys say it would work well ?

Yeah of course! MCP655/D5 was used in this build and I use it and on 45mm 480 and 60mm 240.

What would happen if I used ONLY the UT60 and the D5 pump for the gtx 780 + i5-4690k ? Both cpu and gpu OC to a mild-high OC

I was thinking of doing the water cooling like this.

I would get another radiator and as I said the D5 can handle 4x more than what you put above!

Thanks :)
