CTDs and Blue Screen Errors

Recently I upgraded my gaming computer, however, now whenever I try to play any of my games they will stop responding and I will get the typical "example.exe has stopped responding" message. The games run fine, i am able to play at ultra high settings for extended periods. But they will always give me a CTD after a while. If I tamper with the video settings and turn down the post processing effects, i am able to play for a bit longer, but the end result is always the same. To my suprise i am able to play a selesct few of my games without problems, except for a few graphic hiccups. For example i can play Fallout NV or Brink just fine, but some textures will flash diffeternt colors or they will turn into huge triangles that are quickly corrected. Last week I was able to play Far Cry 3 and Dishonored, but this week I cannot. But today i started to get Blue Screen Errors just out of the blue, even when im just browsing the web.

I think it might be the psu. My computer whines when I turn it on, and I read in some forum post that a whine coming from your computer can indicate a bad psu. I am ordering a new one this week, one that is 80 plus bronze certified. (my first one was part of a budjet build, and i really didnt know the importance of a good psu back then)

It also could be the RAM. The blue screen errors say that something may be wrong hardware wise, especially in the RAM department.

It possible could be the graphics card. When playing Fallout NV, i sometimes experience a CTD and a popup message appears saying that certain Nvidia drivers crashed, but have recovered. This only happens every so often and not right after one another.

It most likely is not the drivers. I wiped the OS clean and installed all the necesarry drivers and gave it to both Best Buy and a local computer repair shop when this started happening, and all they do is check for driver problems and nuke you OS from orbit.

What do you guys think? will the new psu help? Am I missing something obvious here?

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, and hopefully repond.

run furmark. it's the equivalent of prime 95 for your gpu

I ran Furmark, here are the scores

18383 frames, 20 FPS, 82°C

Oh, I ran the Burn-In Benchmark for 15 minutes in 1920x1080

Sorry about that.

idk, i think that it would have popped up any errors if you ran it. try updating to new drivers

to test ram, use memtest86+

Ran memtest86+ for an hour and 30 minutes

it got through one pass with no errors. If you think i should let it run overnight or something say so.

yes, you need to run it overnight.

also, upload the files crom c:/windows/minidump

I can run them through an analyzing program that should be able to sniff out the cause.

I let it run for close to 16 hours. It completed 9 passes with no errors. ECC or something like that was turned off on my cpu, i dont know if that affects results, but otherwise everything ran smoothly.

I did notice however when the pattern its was running through the RAM the pitch of the wine coming from my computer seemed to change pitch and get higher for half of a second and then return to its normal whine. I dont know if this points to anything, im just including as much information as I can.

Also, what would be the best way to upload those files so they get to you? I would do it through email, but I didnt see one on your profile.

Also, I would just like to thank you for helping me on this, I've been trying to get to the bottom of this for a while now with no luck.
