Just came across this CPU heat sink tonight whilst browsing the webs. It beats everything, seriously. The Phanteks, the new D15, beats them all. I want. Even the acoustics are impressive.
I really like the design, although I would love to see the fans also come in white or solid black. It still looks really nice and I think that the engineering that has gone into it is quite impressive and telling of future design improvements. I also adore the ease of installation that they put into the design of the mounting solution.
That packaging is really impressive. Screw it the entire package is really impressive. Should I ever need a new cooler this will be top of the list. Some serious thought gone in to the build of the cooler. So many little touches to make life easier and improve the cooling. Makes me wonder why no one thought of this stuff before.
I know this is an old thread, but I've got one of these and wanted to chime in. Keeps my 4690k (4.6ghz 1.31vcore) at 28c idle, 58c load. Very quiet too, can barely hear it and I have no case. Fantastic cooler, way better looking than the other large towers to boot.
Since this got brought up again, I'll ad my 2 cents. Compared to my old nh-d14 it is louder, but not by much. However, it brought my temps down. 2 runs of Asus Realbench would heat my 8350 ([email protected]) to 69-71 degrees. With the cryorig my temps dont go past 65. and yes i know those temps are too high. Not to mention it looks absolutely bitchin compared to the noctua, especially in my fractal case.
