Crossover 28" 4k Monitor - IPS 4k for <$300 USD | Tek Syndicate

The high-quality Korean displays have come of age. Unlike the 40" panels, these are the PC-grade IPS panels that we've come to know and love.

By popular request! The 28" version of the Korean IPS -- cheaper, faster and 4k in 28"

Also, anyone want to see the new version of the 290M? I'm tempted. They make great "second row" monitors. Lol.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://teksyndicate.com/videos/crossover-28-4k-monitor-ips-4k

These Korean monitors look great, but I got a Dell U2515H only a few months ago :(

Maybe next year!

These things look cool, but too bad it doesn't manage more than 60 Hz yet, maybe later. The color looks great and it's cheaper than a typical retail 1080p IPSs.

I like how some of the scenes are tilted, it feels very soothing.

has 20/20 vision.... gets glasses to avoid windows display scaling...

Awesome thanks! When my tax returns come I might make the step to 4k now. It's a little troubling thinking about games run though.

why don't they ship to New Zealand no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Regarding the 290M 21:9 monitor:
I know I'm the vocal minority (though I'm certainly not alone) here and you should all acknowledge that when considering this but I've had a bad experience with the Crossover monitors. I didn't find the color all that impressive at all; I'd call it decent-ish. I hope the case is improved like you said in the video because that bezel is HORRIBLE; it makes the edge of the screen ridiculously easy to crack. The backlight bleed was quite noticeable too.

I've had my LG 34UM57 for about a month now and I feel like the money was well spent. The UI, the color, Solid casing, the contrast, etc; 10/10. The couple built in presets are great too; it's like having an optional SweetFX preset in your monitor. If you can't spend the extra $300, I understand, but it could save you a lot of possible headache and it's a higher quality display. I've seen both displays and can confirm that this looks noticeably better; idk about $300 better but it's better.

I think it's easier to recommend these monitors when you buy a good bit of them like Logan and Wendell do for their offices. So what if they have to send one or two out of twenty of them back, and I can understand how good of a deal it is to have that many ultra high res displays for productivity for that amount of money, but for the average consumer's main rig I think you should wait and spend a little more money on something mainstream.

I need that display in my life, Time to sell some kidneys

although I'll probably just end up with an 8320E over a new display

Is it possible to replace the computer board in the monitor to make the panel run at 60 hertz?

Wendell Are you sure these are tn and not IPS 4k panels? I dont see any name brand monitors running 4k 28in ips? Infact the listings on ebay say that they are 1ms response which would indicate TN.

Might actually just be 27" there's plenty of those, it's like how some 1080p displays are called 21.5" or 22"

Pretty sure its the 28in tn panel. there are no 4k 28in ips displays as far as i know

You could be right.

There is some color shift in the video. Its very slight, but it looks almost exactly like my friends samsung 4K screen.

Might Grab one of these to use as my Web/Interface monitor. I have a 144hz 27inch gaming monitor and this would look great over top of it.

Я хачу очен меного....

wondering wendell if you have found out if these are indeed ips or tn?

Seem to say its ahva/ahips. I didn't take apart the 28" one but if it's TN it's the best image quality TN panel I've ever seen ever. I wonder if there is a TN version of this monitor that slike the 289K Duplo Edition and I got the 289K Ultra or Final or something...

@wendell just purchased this monitor after watching your video...super stoked but curious as to how to powered it..did you need an adapter?
