CPU's and motherboards

im going to build a pc for around 600 to 650 and i cant find a good motherboard and im contemplating over 2 cpu's the amd fx 6300 or the 8320.

What country, what are you using it for?

i live in washington and i want a new primary gaming system

Well unless you're doing productivity work that needs multi-core performance you'll probably want an i5

im building this computer with my dad and he is a graphic designer. We are kinda tight on money so we want amd to keep the cost down.

And is power color a well regarded brand?

Well are you gaming on it? Do you need multi-threaded performance?

Otherwise it ends up costing about the same because you need to buy a more expensive board to OC the CPU for certain games and tasks

If you just need to run photoshop or something you could just buy a cheap APU PC and call it a day

i was watching a tek syndicate video and he recommended a motherboard for around 65 dollars

it might make room for a cheap ssd

What are you doing with the PC

i will be playing games from call of duty to the new battlefront

mostly gaming, some photoshop and premiere

Well if you're going to do a lot of work in premiere you'll probably want the AMD 8 core, you could in theory get a cheap motherboard, there's only one I'd recommend, but you really need to overclock the AMD chips to keep up in certain games and to keep up with intel's CPUs in productivity work, so you're better off with the 990 board over the cheaper board that will only handle stock speeds

this is my first computer and i wont be overclocking to much and i wont be doing very much work on premiere. I just want a satisfactory experience over the new consoles

Then you're probably better off with the i5 unless you also need to run virtual machines or something

idk honestly intel or amd

Not realy rendering in adobe premiere is exaly faster on a core i5 then a FX83xx.
This because the AVX2.0 instruction that the haswell i5 has.

Well here's the CPU benchmarks for battlefront, an i3 beats out the FX 8 core due to AMD's low IPC

@MisteryAngel
Isn't the AMD CPU still going to beat it out once overclocked though? the mutli-threaded performance is a fair bit better after all

i just want game decently. its not much premiere

Not realy, you see the i5-4460 only runs on 3.2GHz and the FX8350 allready runs on 4.2GHz thats allready 1GHz clock diffrence.
And the 4460 still beats the FX8350 in adobe premiere.

FX83xx is only better in 3d rendering.
