I just built my computer about 2 weeks ago and when ever i play game my CPU usage jumps to 80% - 90% is this normal? its not overheating i have a H105 water cooler and it stays around 50 C. the games i have played are GW2, WOW, and Archeage. please help. it does have a mild over clock of 4.0ghz. but it does it even at stock settings.

i am running windows 8.1

 

my full build is

I5 4690k, with

msi z97 gaming 5 mother board,

MSI gtx 970,

16GB of Gskill ram at 2133

EVGA 650 watt power supply

This is normal behaviour.  The game requires both the video card and the cpu to run, this is why you see video game benchmarks released for new cpu's, not just gpu's.

..like saying should I be worried that my oven gets hot when I turn it on.
