CPU usage variations

Hey all, I’ve got Blue Iris (IP camera software) running on a PC. The software displays the ram usage and CPU usage but something is off.

Blue Iris, hwinf064, hwmonitor, and the “Details” tab under Task Manager all show about the same usage, usually around 15%. However under the “Processes” tab and “Performance” tab under Task Manager I am getting a pretty consistent 50% utilization and above for the Blue Iris software.

In the end everything is working fine and I’m not having any issues but I just don’t understand why there is such a large variation between recorded CPU utilization readouts. The CPU is running a little warm (65C+), it’s a 10700K stock. I’ve got a new cooler on the way, swapping out a hyper 212 evo for a NH-D15.

It might just be Windows being Windows but I figured I’d ask, thanks!

I see a slight variation, but nothing close to yours. No idea the cause!

I’m at around 37% CPU usage on an i7-8700K but details shows just 25% which is what Blue Iris reports in the UI

Thanks, odd to me as well! In regards to Blue Iris not showing temps right there is an option to do a slight temp offset. Settings-Other-CPU usage factor. If you already knew that disregard. I can’t adjust for that much of a swing and like I said it’s not just Blue Iris that is showing that similar temp range, weird!

Haha, I don’t even look at temps! As long as it doesn’t shut down I’m golden
