Hey guys i was wondering if ya could help me out with an upgrade i plan in the near future. So... I have a phenom iix4 965 be and need to know what cpu is a big upgrade from that and maybe if u could stick with amd (if u go with intel thts ok) and also can u include a good mobo. Lastly, i have a 7850 and a CX500w psu(if i need a new one, plz tell me which). Thank u guys and heres my budget:
if its am3 you might have something that is still servicable.
Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 with an 8350, your psu and graphics card should be fine as is
The Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 is fine at stock, wouldnt try overclocking it much though due to the 4+2 Phase VRM, if you plan on going dual gpu at some point then you will need a 990fx board
Using the above two your build will be pretty similar to the machine I built for my brother, (cpu/gpu/mboard) he has no complaints.
p.s that Seasonic 650W 80+gold psu is soo cheap at the monent, with that discount get it now!. this upgrade fits your budget. but you would also be fine with you corsair builder psu, if you not overclock. if you want to overclock, and also want a 7950 then i recommend a better psu, like that seasonic.
p.s the Asus M5A97 Le R2.0 board sucks i would realy not recommend to trow a power hungry FX8350 on that board. because there are no heat sinks on the VRM´s.
It must be luck of the draw then because my brother (who does about 8 hours gaming a day...) has never had a problem with it, but as I said.. I only have it running at stock.
yeah at stock it will probably run without much issues, but still i know for sure that those vrm´s will get crazy hot. on a Asus M5A97 Le i would only trow a FX4300/6300 cpu´s onto it personaly. For those cpu´s its a great low budget board ☺
But ofc wht you said your self, it allways comes a bit to luck.
