Cpu Temps

Hey guys of the darkest corners of the tek forums,

I recently build my very first pc, and after being unhappy about the noise level of the stock amd cooler. I got a cooler master hyper 212 evo with a noctua NF-F12 fan.

So i tried to see what temps i had. Im using core temp and pc wizard 2012 to monitor temps etc.

But, when im running Prime95 for 2 hours straight the temps dont go higher then 50 degrees C.

Is this normal, or is there something broken? Imo these temps are reaaaly low..

Screenshots after 2 hours of prime95:

Pc Temps

they are not that good... i get 56c on a 1045t @ 3.5Ghz

try better thermal paste

I used the thermal paste that comes with the hyper 212 evo. Wich thermal paste do u reconmend?

I used Antec formula 7.... it's got good reviews and i am very happy with it.

DON'T layer it on though, i only used a scrape of it and everything is fine.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hNgFNH7zhQ : i think he says somthing about cleaning your cpu in here and shows you exactly how to do it

I don't see what's wrong with these temps, but I'm more used to Intel than AMD at this point. I had my old Phenom II X4 940 overclocked to 3.7Ghz and it never went above 60C with a Cooler Master V6 GT though.

Are you running this CPU at stock or is it overclocked? As long as you don't go over 60C, then you should be fine.

if it is stock then those temps are fairly bad... (unless you room temp is 10000000000000000000 degrees)

overclocked: good :)

Temps are fine, worry when passing 60c overclocked, Phenom II thermal limit is 62c.

Those temps are fine. Prime 95 is pretty much just a way of testing to see if your overclock is stable now than anything else really. You probably won't ever actually get 100% cpu usage in real world applications.

I don't know that they're necessarily bad considering he's using Prime 95 to test.

50°C after that stress is completely fine

Yeah everything seems to be fine, you shouldnt worry unless they're 60+, anything under that and you shouldnt fret my deer.

those temperatures that  pc wizard 2012 are showing, dont look very trustfull to me...

i just installed that to, and looked what temps i get, i  temps per core about 22 till 28 degrees, and it says my cpu temp on idle, is about 37 degrees too FX8350 with stock cooler.

in other program, HWmonitor pro,  gives me a temperature from about 21 degrees with a maximum from 28, thats looks more trustfull to me! the  pc wizard 2012 doesnt detect my cpu well, it still says its a zambezi, and it it says it runs on 1.4 ghz lol, i had the same issue, with the old version of cpu id, wenn i downloaded the newest it saw it detected vishera, and  constand speeds about 4.1/4.2 ghz.

so i realy think  the hardware wizard program isn´t very reaileble

in the uefi bios, its allways arround 31 degrees.

" it still says its a zambezi" - zambezi is bulldozer, vishera is piledriver... are you sure you have an fx-8350???

temps look fine for you and 50c after 2 hours of prime is damn good with only having a 212.  i get to 54c after 2 hours of prime 95 with a 1100t at 4.3 ghz using a noctura nh d14

@Vortex88 Im running this cpu at stock speed. but, i am planning to do an overclock. We will see how that will work out. I did go above 70 when using the stock cooler. Should i be worried my cpu might be damged?

@SOMNIOX Room temps are about 20C.

@MisteryAngel PC Wizzard seems to work fine for me. All info i get from it, seems to be the same as i see in coretemp and my bios.

@ Everyone else, thanks for your input :)

Also, im not using case fans.

So there is no fresh air intake.

Would that help? And wich fans would u recommend for such a purpose?

any fan that fits your case is better than none at all. if you have the cash and room in case get a few deltas and a fan controller.  and be be ready for one loud wind tunnel in your case if you dont get a fan controller.

but on a serious note noctura case fans are good and so are most cooler master case fans.

i'm also confused about my cpu temps. I figured it would be better to post in here than make another thread. I don't do any overclocking, im running a 6100fx, im using the software that came with my motherboard to monitor the temps. the software says i'm hovering around 27-30C is that normal? or is my software inaccurate.

i runed prime on my FX8350 for just 15 minutes i know it isnt that long but in hardware monitor, my temps runed up to 45 degrees, wenn i do gaming my cpu allways gets around 45 degrees, with all settings on high, the cooler gets noisie, but the temp never bin over 50 de grees with the stock cooler, i didnt oc, only turbo core enabled. so on 4.2 ghz wenn ir runs if i use prime  it get in 15 minutes to 45 degrees, its only noisie, but to me thats not realy bad for a stock cooler :)

She said the program is still reading the 8350 as a zambezi, implying that the program is clearly false.
