CPU Problem?

OK, so I got a Gigabyte z87n-wifi running bios version F2

I have already checked it will boot with F2 bios and G3220 CPU

I updated the Bios directly to F6 then rebooted back into the bios.. No setting changed yet.

As all went well, I put in the G3258 and tried to boot it up. It now spins the case fans for 1 sec and stop, repeating itself endlessly... After i swapped the G3220 back in, it kept on doing that....

Sounds like its failing to POST. Try clearing your CMOS

I have shorted out my CMOS and taken the battery out, Still nothing

*Shorted the CMOS jumper pins*

Do you have a motherboard speaker to see if your board will spit out an error code?

No, the mobo dosen't have an onboard speaker

Also, i really do not want to send the board in as i will have to ship it to the US from canada and it will cost a fortune

Probably won't fix it, but try re-seating your ram.

Since it was working with the new UEFI, I don't think your board should be bricked, unless something truly bizarre happened.

i reseated them, 2x4gb sticks all the ways i could...even pulling the ram yields the same noise

Also, it has been the 2nd board (Same model, different rev) that has done this to me so far...

Gigabyte Z87N-Wifi

OK, will try that method.

BTW should i have the G3258 on the board ready to boot up or the G3220 ? I am mainly planing to use the G3258

well the G3258 booted with the first board the i RMA'ed with a F4 bios... the G3258 needed a F5 bios to boot....... so i guess use the G3220 for now eh ?

Also, I know I skimped out on the PSU with a CX500 but should it be good enough for now ? (There is a gigabyte 280x rev 2)

I am also planning to throw in a I3 or I5-4690k in the ear future. Will it have enough juice to power it ?

Might be close if you stick in an i5 and overclock both GPU and CPU, but for now it should be just fine.

if you do get the i5 ... a 600w like Corsair builder is usually  $30 it isn't at the moment but the

SeaSonic 620W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular is $40 right now

OK, I have another problem...

My case is the ISK600 and the PSU can only be 140mm long.... the CX500 has about 10mm of space from the 280x. Could it potentially short it out with the braiding or smth ? (I am also in Canada) The case is really really cramped right now :P

And its still not booting up........... Just tried booting it back up without the battery... didnt work.   Put the battery in, still didnt work

Hello, can anyone help anymore ?
