So I need something with more juice for recording and rendering. It's time to get rid of my FX-6100 and upgrade. I've been wanting to get rid of it anyway since it's such a bad overclocker (1.4 stock voltage!!1!11q32hr;askb v). The only catch is that the motherboard needs to be Black/Red. Aside from gaming performance, what other improvements does Haswell/Z87 have over Ivy/Sandy + Z77?

You get 6 sata3 rather than 4, and better integrated graphics. Ive heard haswell runs cooler unless you plan to overclock, then it runs hotter. Still, it runs a hell of alot cooler than my old amd phenom x4 9550.

There is a biostar board. But considering he wants to upgrade, i wouldn't go from a sabertooth to a biostar board.

Maybe 80 for cpu and 150 for the mobo. Cause you have voided the warranty with the custom paint.
