I'm planning on buying a new CPU and motherboard because when I was building my gaming PC I had some issues with moeny so I got a crappy CPU. I have a amd 6770 video card. Would this be OK for my PC. I'm not sure on all the details and I'm having a friend install this. I just need input before I buy. Here is the CPU and motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1336585
You don't need an APU when you already have a video card.
How much money do you have and how much power do you need?
I recommend Asus M5A97 R2.0 and FX-8320.
I have around 250$. My goal here is to play games such as metro last light at high. Not extreme but high without antialising. Every time I see if my PC can run things it says my CPU is holding ,e back.

Well, then what I already mentioned earlier (FX-8320 and M5A97 R2.0) fits you perfectly.
Although what is actually holding you back is your GPU. A HD 7850 can only run Metro Last Light on Normal settings in 1080p. HD 6770 is what, like, twice less powerful?
