CPU is hitting as high as 100°F under medium load - What cooling should I get?

When I built my PC about 6 months ago, I thought I would be fine by not getting any type of aftermarket cooling. I was horribly wrong.

Here's my build list. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/T0XlCZ/saved/xvvnTW

As you can see, I have no aftermarket CPU, GPU or Case Fans. I used the stock Intel CPU cooler with the pre-applied Thermal Paste on it. I also used the two pre-installed fans on my case.

Lately I noticed I have been getting lower frames in Minecraft, the game I play the most often. I thought nothing of it, thinking maybe it was a server issue or something. Today I decided to check my temps using CPUID. I discovered that while having my usual background apps open (Chrome with a few tabs, Skype, Steam) and Minecraft, my CPU stays around 80-85°F on two cores are 90-95°F on the other two cores. At one point while playing Minecraft, all 4 CPU cores were staying above 100°F for a good while.

This got me really worried, so I'm posting here. What cooling options should I get? I obviously need a CPU cooler, so should it be air cooling likea Hyper 212 Evo or water cooling like a H100i. Should I get any case fans, if so how many?

Also, my case is pretty badly cable managed. Could this also be a factor for such high temperatures?

Thanks in advance.

Holy shit I feel stupid. Disregard this post. I was getting Celsius and Fahrenheit mixed up.

Hahah was gonna say :P

100f is pretty cool :P

EDIT: Didn't notice you noticed the C/F thing before I posted. My recommendations still stand though if you want to upgrade in the future.

100 Fahrenheit or 100 Celsius? 100 Fahrenheit is only 37.78 Celsius, which isn't bad per se.

I would place two fans in the front of the case for intake and leave the two stock fans where they are. That way there's decent airflow going through the case. If you don't mind LEDs, a 2-pack of Corsair fans is a pretty decent for the money. Akasa Piranha and Akasa Vipers are also good for the price.

As for CPU cooling, the 212 Evo should be more than fine for a locked i5.

Thank you for the recommendations. If my temps ever do go higher, I will keep this in mind.

We'll be skeptical if you make the same mistake the other way, how can be CPU temp be below freezing? I was thinking that the preapplied paste might've dried, and just to get and apply new thermal compound. Anyways, stay cool!

Yeah New Thermal Paste would likely fix the problem. For a locked processor with good case airflow you don't need a fancy CPU cooler, although, it would lower temps and be quieter. Thermal paste is also a much Cheaper fix you can get good paste for under 10$

Any of these would be good. Just be careful if you choose the AS5 as it is conductive. I like AS5, but, have used PK3 and found it better; as it gives better thermals, is non conductive, and doesn't dry out.

I would recommend the Prolimatech thermal paste my self.  I have used the PK-1 for 2 years now and it is still going strong.  It dropped my temps some too.
