I am in need of a new heatsink With most heatsinks being universal today I would like to know what heatsink you are rockin in your rig? Thanks
I personally have an H100 in my rig, but I would have just gone with an XSPC Rasa RS240 if I had known it was around the same price at the time. I'm going to replace it with a custom loop once I get the money together for a high end loop.
I actually just installed a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ in my friend's rig yesterday though. He doesn't have anything special, but he doesn't do an excessive amount of gaming. He just wanted to get rid of his old case, power supply, and stock heatsink, so we got him a Corsair Vengeance C70, a couple of Corsair AF120 Performance fans, a Hyper 212+, and a Corsair TX550M. That hyper 212+ is cooling an AMD triple core though.
I use a Noctua NF-D14, one of the better air coolers on the market. There are a couple of draw backs... They are not cheap and chuffing huge! about the size of a baby's head! That said if you have the cash and the space it's just about the best cooler there is right now. It also comes with one of the best mounting systems and very good cabling options, Y split and fan speed redusers. They are also quiet, something often overlooked but silence is golden.
I use a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo. Cheap and very efficient for an air cooler. Got my i5 760 overclocked from 2.8GHz to 3.8GHz, temps stay under 60C load
I've used a lot of Hyper 212's in the builds I've done, its great for somethings but what is your budget, CPU, case, and Overclock?
Snagged a 212 on sale, but i'm not impressed, if i was going to stick with an aircooled rig, which i'm not, i would have bought this.
I live in the states and couldn't find the Dark Rock anywhere. It was my number one choice but nobody had it.
I can afford any cooling option and the case I made myself and will fit anything out there within reason.lol Haven't decided if I am going to stick my latest Amd board in it or an I5 build that has been in boxes for a couple of months waiting. What I really just wanted to know is what you all have because if you guys/ladies are rockin it then it must be good. Thanks
