I am going for a $1400-$1500 build. I want a nice motherboard with it (like the MSI Mpower or ASrock Extreme4 (input is nice)) Since the 2500K and 3570K cost the same here (in Norway) I was wondering which one I should get. I am getting the NZXT Havik 140, and thinking about doing a little bit of overclocking like 3.8 GHZ or something.
So what i am asking for is:
Which CPU?
How high should/can I Overclock?
Which motherboard should i get for the CPU? (I know that question fits in the Motherboard section)
I'd recommend getting the 3570k, as it has about 10-15% better performance than the 2500k. However, it does run hotter, so make sure you don't go too crazy overclocking it. You could reach 4.2-4.5ghz no problem with the Havik 140. Just make sure that the cpu is running stable by stress testing it EXTENSIVELY. And as for a motherboard, your best option would probably be the Asrock Extreme4, as it offers the most for the money, and it's the same one that Logan suggested in his 1300$ pc build.
