Okay so I overclocked the crap out of my fx6100, and now my current fans on there are screaming at me. The ones on there are some coolermastercrap that came with the 212 and another one just like it. So what do, I was looking at the nocuta 120 fans, the cougar 120 fans, and the new corsair performance series fans. I just want something that's quiet that moves a lot of air at 120mm. I can also upgrade the rest of the fans in the case while I'm at it, so what kind should I get?
Thanks!
Noctuas NF-F12 are the best for static pressure, so for your cpu cooler they would be the best but also overall really good, however i cant get over their color scheme so yeah thats up to you, also they are a bit expensive!
not sure if you mean an all in one watercooling solution or what but check this out on youtube

Yeah, nothing can really compare to the performance of the Noctua fans. Which is why they continue to sell so well despite their appearance. Enermax makes some fairly nice fans as well. Like these:

I have two SP 120s and one AF 120 in my case. They are really, really noisy, although they don't ramp up at all. But I also don't have any capacity for overclocking on my machine.
Yeah I don't really care what they look, I can't see in my case anymore, I flipped the side panels around b/c I couldn't get my cable management good and it was driving me crazy lol. So yeah I'll just get some Noctua NF-F12s when I get a little cash
Or, if your case supports it, just get a bigger heatsink. Check out the Thermalright Silver Arrow. That thing is massive, and comes with two fans that are of pretty awesome quality (150mm fans.)
Yeah I got space let me check it out EDIT: and then I saw the price of it Lol, 127 on amazon

It's the same price as about 4 Noctua fans. And it also ships free of charge.
Oh damn I might actually do that then
Most of the cooling inadequacies of air coolers aren't often from your fans, but from a low thermal mass. The heavier a piece of metal is, the more energy it can take in before its own temperature rises. And when most of that mass is in the form of thin metal fins that have air being passed through or over them, then you get very efficient energy transfer, and it can handle a lot more energy than something that weighs less. The Thermalright Silver Arrow has almost three times the mass of the Hyper 212 Evo, and is thus able to dissipate a huge amount of heat.
If I was sticking with air cooling on a heavily overclocked rig, and I happened to have the room for it, then I don't see why not. It is one of the best air coolers I have seen on the market thus far. And if you go through their website, you can buy another fan and install a third fan, just for lulz.
