CPU certified psu?

Hi i'm about to finish up my first build, "the 400 dollar console killer by Logan"
And my friend gave me his old PSU and GPU a dynex psu (he believed it was 520 watts) and a XFX ghost thermal r7770
And I was looking at a future upgrade in PSU and i noticed something about "Cpu certified" with "4th gen" intel cpus
Could anyone explain the meaning of that?
Would that make my pentium incompatible with the CPU?

When Ivybridge was released (4th gen intel I) they had a new super low power state. Some PSUs at the time could not "idle" at a low enough draw, so these CPUs need that certification.

So does the itntel pentium require one of those PSU's?

You may need to turn off the ultra low power states on your Pentium but there is nothing that will physically stop you from using that power supply on that Pentium

Never heard of a CPU certified PSU...

its more of a "(insert codename here) Ready!" certification. And all it means is that the power supply won't flip the fuck out (shut off or activate brownout protection) when the CPU enters an ultra low power state such as C6 or C7
