Hi all, just a question about valley benchmark, how dependant is the scoring system on CPU performance? I'm running an RX480 (sapphire nitro 4GB)and 760K which posts about 2350 and if I clock down the CPU by 200mHz (3.5) I get 1980 which makes sense however this seems like quite a gap.
Does anyone else encounter this and has anyone got a 480 with an I5 or otherwise to compare against
Yes, CPU can make a difference. Valley is designed to saturate the GPU but if you have a powerful GPU the CPU might not be able to feed it quickly enough.
From experience testing an 860k with cards like the 290 and 970 I can tell you your CPU isnt up to the job of keeping up with an rx 480 at 1080p in valley. If you do the benchmark at a higher resolution it is tho 😊
