Could I get two SSD cards and put an OS on each

I've heard people putting 2 OS systems on one SSD card..... but i was wondering could I get two SSD cards and put one OS system on one and another on the other?

How much space to you feel is needed for the majority of linux systems/set ups?

Thanx for any replies.

Depending on the size of your SSD, say a 120GB you could partition the drive and cut it in half or reserve 32GB of space and install linux on that partition. I forget the process but I believe that you can use GRUB to dual boot decently depending on how nice the distro plays with the Windows MBR.

I have 2 SSDs in my PC happily sharing a couple of data HDDs. They're both 128GB and different brands. One is running Windows and the other Linux and I have yet to see an issue with one caused by the other.

As for booting you could go for just selecting the one you want in the BIOS at boot, or you could use a bootloader like Grub to list the available OS'.

Thank you very much. May i ask what linux you are using and how you like the linux you are using so far?

I was using Ubuntu with Gnome which I was pretty happy with usability-wise, but I moved to Debian due to an odd screen tearing issue that I couldn't seem to fix. The Windows is Windows 7.

I honestly miss Windows XP......lol How frequent do you use the linux vs windows?

I use Linux quite frequently, but I fall back to Windows for games and similar Windows specific programs.
