Corsair SP140 making a ticking sound at lower RPMs but not at higher-

Hey, I have an H110i in a push pull. The bottom fans are Nactuas while the top are the ones that came with the system. Before I had this configuration I always heard a slight clicking sound like a fan blade was hitting something but I would rock the case and it would go away but now I've found out which fan it is making noise and it goes away if I put my finger on the back of the fans motor but the moment I lift my finger off it starts back up but it goes away after the fans move at a fast speed.
I was hoping someone could tell me how to fix this or what this issue is with this one fan the other Corsair SP140 doesnt make any weird noises at all. Any ideas?

There is a possibility that there may be some vibration from all the fans.
I suppose you could pick up a small pack of rubber washers to place between the radiator and fan or fan and mounting point on the case.

Another possibility is that there may be a problem with the AIO pump on the H110i. Is it wired directly into your PSU at full 12V or is it on a motherboard header, if its on a motherboard header, try setting the voltage at a flat 50% to 70% or just a lower than 100% if you are able to.
Do you have any utility for your motherboard? Alternatively you should be able to set it up in your UEFI, but if not, you should be able to download the utility for your motherboard https://us.msi.com/product/motherboard/support/X99S-SLI-PLUS.html#down-utility

Alright thanks. I'll try and set the voltage. My corsair fans are on a y-fan splitter connected directly to the motherboards CPU fan headers.

I have this exact problem with a H80i with one SP120 attached to it. It's driving me insane. I've re-installed the fans and the rad multiple times. Changed the fans as well. I've concluded that it's an issue with the H80i and now I'm in the market for a decent air-cooler because I've simply given up.

So I've gotten some rubber washers and that fixed and issue I had running the fans at 50% and highers. The fans would spin so fast that some how the fan blades would get caught on the radiator mount of my case (Corsair 760t) but the clicking is still there if I lower the fan speed.

@pizzahontas depending on your cpu and budget you might want to look at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA68V21E0632 though it is a little expensive but should be able to do what he H80i did

Yeah I've looked at this and the black phanteks one as I'd prefer black to match my build. Although, I'm actually thinking a hyper 212 will do the trick as I'm only using an FX8320 at the moment.
It's such a shame because I was thinking of upgrading to a H110 GTX up until this problem started because I love the look of the AIO coolers, but I've now lost all faith in them.

Curious, are you able to RMA the unit to corsair?
Perhaps corsair can send you a new one or you might be lucky and receive an H80i GT which should be much more refined in terms of reliability and performance. I have had my H55 for nearly 3 years, its been doing fine. I threw on a Noctua fan but its mounted vertically.

If the fan has a rifle bearing - then its two things
1. the bearing has a bit of play in it - caused by problem 2
2. Rifle bearings in fans are usually sensitive to how they are orientated and if they are designed to pull away from the hub (due to fan air pressure) and you put it in "upside down" then it cant lubricate properly, wears, gets out of balance and a particular rotational speeds it hits a natural harmonic vibration and "ticks" as it passes the poles of the electrical motor.

Mine is out of warranty unfortunatley :(

I have no idea if the fans that Corsair sent with my unite are riffle bearings but that is very informative thank you, I'll try and see if Corsair says what the fans are on their site or something.
