I was thinking about installing Coreboot/Libreboot on my Lenovo X220. anyone had done it and can recommend it?
And anyone near London area that have necessary hardware to do so?

Unfortunately you can’t libreboot the X220 as only older, pre Core i-series CPUs are supported due to the their ability to disable Intel ME. Coreboot is still a good option and you can neutralize the ME to some extent using me_cleaner.
As for the hardware, you just need an SPI flasher (like a raspberry pi or buspirate) and a SOIC-8 clip. Both can be found online relatively easily.
