Hi guys, I just wanted to know if there was any difference in the Intel Core i5 3570 and 3570K, besides the over clocking aspect of it. And is it worth it to spend the extra money just for that 'K' if I'm gaming and software programming? I'm not even sure if I'm going to over clock my CPU
as far as i know, the only difference is the unlocked multiplier, and some other things that make OC'ing easier.
IMHO, it is really worth it to go with the K version, becuase most people who arent sure, and even a big part who say no in the begginning OC later on anyway...
It's always your choice though, but I'd get the K version.
K edition of 3570 has a Intel HD Graphics 4000 compared to regular 3570 that has HD Graphics 2000... If you dont plan to buy a GPU for your i5 3570k then please rather choose AMD A10 Trinity 5800k that has APU/IGP Radeon HD 7660D. A10's APU/IGP destroys Intels i5 3570k's HD Graphics 4000. You can save 80-90$ and buy 1600 or 1866mhz RAM and even better DDR3 RAM. Its good for internet browsing and watching videos.
Gaming wise you could run Crysis 2 at medium 720p with decent framerate but since you are coding I would choose i5 3570k even thought you could buy AMD FX 6300 that is alot cheaper and it can compete with 3570k in future since games will more and more core's.
