Core i3 at 3040Mhz goes down to 1440Mhz

Ok i'm not sure if this goes here, but here is the thing.

My i3 530 is runing @ 3040Mhz, at least that's what CPU-Z shows me,

then i downloaded TMonitor and there, the speed is 1440Mhz and it only goes to 3040Mhz when i do something that needs more CPU power, like a render in 3DS Max.

In both pictures CPU-Z shows 3040Mhz.

Now, the weird thing is that Speedstep and all that "power saving" features are disabled in the BIOS, and when the speed goes down and up i notice a slight lag in what i'm doing, and in games, there are jumps of fps when that happens.

If it helps, is on a Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2H.

I hope someone can help me with that.

What are you saying? are you wanting it to Stay at max clockspeeds no matter what your doing?

Yes, because when the speed goes up and down i can notice a slight lag, and i don't want that.

wenn it goes up and down, you have an old version of cpuid, i had the same with my  vishera download the newest version of cpuid version 1.63
