Cooling with Peltier

What are your opinions on cooling pc components with peltier?

Im currently waiting for my modules to come in the mail, so I can use them to test my nvidia g 210 (hard as hell to clean the TIM off) and use it as a learning experience. and possibly do some sick overclocking (lol) on this card.

have you tried this before and if so what are your experiences?

and also if you dont know what peltier is google it.

also if you dont know what peltier is google it. It is sad you had to put that in there but it is funny..Imma google how many times the word peltier has been used in the forum..

This is probably the best one..https://teksyndicate.com/forum/inboxexe/peltier-plates-cpu-cooling-are-they-worth-it/146743

but as you can see there are more this is not all of them..

and remeber if they don't work for this purpose you can make them into a Thermoelectric Energy Generator..

it's really not all that useful... it's more like a heat pump than a cooler.

That's really what a cooler does though. It just moves heat from one place to another. The trick is to get rid of the heat efficiently so you can move more heat.

Holy crap. If you did put it between your CPU and heatsink, you could get free power. To power. I dont know. An LED or something.

Peltiers are inefficent. They consume much more power than a fan and the hot plate generates more heat than a cpu would.

They can cool very good but its overkill for safe voltage overclocks. Not to mention all the insulation you have to do.

I don't see any reason to use them.

lol..Yeah I am going to use some to make a wood stove fan, because I don't want to make  a Stirling engine fan..
