Hi RTWers!
OK now, I'm in DIRE need of a cooler for my i5 750... what do you guys recommend? My target is at least a 4.2 or 4.4 OC with intel technologies disables of course. NH-D14 is toooo big for my case... :( and that leaves out most of the great tower coolers like Megahalems and V8 and all...how about the Noctua C12p Se14 ? or maybe the H50? if H50 what are some good fans for a push/pull setup? I can bear some noise, but definitely not a jet taking off... any help is GREATLY appreciated, as I'm at a total loss here...thanks in advance!! FYI, i5 750's a 95W TDP CPU...
Ehm, anything above 4ghz needs extreme amounts of voltage, and I doubt an air cooler would be enough.
My 4GHz Core i7 can barely run on a ThermalRight Venomous X. What case do you have? (If it will fit a H50, it will fit everything!)
ThermalRight Venomous X like RuffeDK has. not sure how big it is but its pretty much the air cooler to get.
mmm to precise what I said earlier; It is easy to gain 4ghz. but the rate of "easyness" drops on how high you clock. After 4ghz, its hell.
I have an In Win FANQUA case...not full ATX, just ATX like the CM HAF922. Ok, let's limit the speed to 4.0... :D what are my options? gotta look at that venomous-x too...
Prolimatech Megahalem and TRUE = by bet.
I can't fit something big like the Megahalems or TRUE cuz of the damn side panel fan..it's a BIG 220mm mutha****. If I wanna, I can replace that with 2 120mm fans, but this fan just delivers...more than 200CFM airflow at a uber low noise. That's why I asked about the Noctua c12p Se14 cuz it a non tower model, and fits nicely...or some other 90mm small tower cooler, which I doubt would be enough at 4.0. H50 fits nicely too, and alas, Newegg don't have CoolIT ECO ALC...
4.0 is enough, so can anyone recommend something which fits my case? maybe some great fans for a push/pull H50 setup? and thanx for the input guys...:D
if the h50 fits just go with it. it works well. id just make sure that the fan at the top of your case is one that removes a good bit of air and then you should be set.

I thought of putting 2 of these at the front and one at top... how is it looking? helps to light up the whole thing blue too :D My inner self
tells me to get the H50, but won't the performance increase with a push/pull setup? Or am I all set with the regular setup? I saw some nice numbers at Corsair forums...
Push pull will always be best. Make it to take air directly outside the case, then blow it into the case.. so make sure you got enough outtake fans for the heat
Also.. Don't get H50, get Coolit ECO ALC.. much better looking.. about same performance if not better

Screw the look and design. These are THE best radiator/heatsink fans out there + you can't hear 'em.
I second those fans. godlike :D
Ummm, 50$ just for fans eh? my brother would kill me just for that...
If it comes to that, I'll get 'em, screw the price. But how about 2 Scythe Ultra Kaze's? They're jet-like, i know, but one of the best, or so I heard...any ideas? and they're cheaper too... :D
did you get the 1850 rpm ones. ive seen a good number of people using them for their radiators.
Prolimatech Megashadow gets my i7 860 to 4.2Ghz with room to spare.
It can also double as a crime deterrent as it weighs as much as your entire motherboard and 1 slight drop of your computer will rip off the socket.
hahahaha the forever usual rice...
and umm, I got the 1450rpm one. As i researched, it had the best noise/performance ratio... and at the moment, newegg is outta 1850 ones... 1450 moves 85 m³/h, and the 1850 moves 98 m³/h...not much difference there. wait a second... umm did I make the wrong descision with the 1450's ??
****!!
