The V10 would really just be a waste of money. The Noctua NH-D14, Silver Arrow, Phanteks, and Corsair H100 all outperform it. I'm pretty sure even the V6GT, Thermaltake Frio, and H80 outperform it too.
that is a sick PC!
I'd go with a frio (certain variants work better than others but they are all good), also any old heatsink will definetly benefit a upgraded fan from stock, find a high static pressure fan, and you're in business.
You would be surprised the V8 is right on par with all of those heatsinks.
I have a V8 and its keeping my Phenom II x6 1600T Cool on average 30C (full load 40C) over 4GHz. I wouldnt see how the V10 could be any worse.
a 1200w PSU? what on earth for
you'd be surprised at how much the application of thermal paste matters
That is true.
i too have a V8. it works well and is quiet.
however, i think the frio has to be the sexiest heat sink there is....
Intel also runs hotter than AMD.
i was going to tri sli but i have another lol
What is a 1600T I've never heard of that?
It's the 6 core AMD CPU after unlocking the cores in a Phenom X4 960T
