Cooler Master Hyper Evo 212 Plus

Hi guys I haven't yet perfected the art of adding cpu paste. I did the x-method on the hyper evo 212, before reading up on the two line method for this cooler. I ran out of paste, re-applying my gpu as well ( i didn't use the whole bottle on the cpu).

I did two beefy iines (x-method), and my gut is telling my i have too much in between there. I am idling at 33-36 degrees Celsius on all four cores, on CPUID HWMonitor.
I have a push-pull configuration, and testing under prime 95 I maxed out at 77-79 degrees Celsius at 4.4ghz on a 2600k, but when I idle, my processor downvolts to 1.6ghz or 1600mhz

From my reading, I might be able to drop 7-8 degrees if I reapply the paste correctly, my question tho is it worth it since i'd have to pull out the system and reapply and buy more thermal paste (arctic freezer probably) just to possibly see a few degrees drop temperature

Well, thermal paste is only a couple of bucks, even for some good stuff.

You only need a drop about the size of a small pea(that might even be a bit too much).  I think you definitely have too much paste.

No not that way ... lol

+1

alright lol  I just have to man up and open her up again.
