one of my video editing friends and multi-talented friend Jeremy hack has a few good videos on youtube that I thought I'd share, he's my bro, drove like 30 miles to help me when my truck broke down so the least I could do is post these, he somehow has less veiws and subscribers than my other friend that has hokey pairody videos, so he deserves better
note that there is no oxygen in the resulting chemical formula. by adding baking soda (CHNaO3) it will release O2 (oxygen) as well, which makes the smoke less dangerous to use in confined spaces.
you can also do this with amonium nitrate. word of warning though, both potasium nitrate and amonium nitrate are combustable.... mixing it wrong, or having too much of an oxidiser in it will make it combust faster, posibly even at 'explosive' speeds. if you do this, NEVER put the mixture in a closed container, and if you make a thick canister of the mixture, do not poke holes in it to oxidise it faster..... play safe and don't be stupid :)
I think Qain made/was making a cheap camera dolly/stabilizer with hardware store parts a year or two ago. I think he made a thread about it on RTW 2.0 iirc.
yeah, at our school, a lot of kids had home made stablizers. they just took the top of a tripod, attached some pluming fittings to that it had about a 2 foot pole on it, with a handel about 6 inches form the top. then a 10 pound weight at the bottom.
