I need a way to throttle Netflix bandwidth using the QoS on my router. I do not want to kill the Netflix experience when its being used, just keeping it from killing the experience for everyone while Netflix is being used. Netflix kills the bandwidth on the dsl internet connection for the house, which makes playing games online and other stuff feel slow. I have found a way to throttle the rx/tx and any device that holds high usage gets throttled, but due to the way Netflix usage jumps it bypass the throttle.
Im not sure how to word this but the quick short answer would be .. don't bother
If your under 6mbs chances are this will never work the way you want. Despite the fact that you might have an extra 2-3 mbs to spare you cant just fill it up ontop of an open connection. your line can only handle so many open connections at once and they all take there turns coming in and out of your modem
so when your playing a game you get more lag because it has to wait its turn whenever another connection is on. the reason why netflix is a big problem is because its constantly streaming. so it will be constantly adding lag to your games
