Controller Clarification - Playing old games

Ok, so i’ve asked a while ago about the Steam Controller and Xbox One controller and in the end, I think I was dead set on the Xbox One controller. Honestly, i’d love to simply use something that works from the get-go and is optimized for that purpose. However, i’m no stranger to DIY. After all, i’m using a PC. But I also want to be able to play OLD games - and do marathons in some cases of old games using a controller.

If I am to play something like the first 3 Splinter Cell games; how can I get those games working with a controller?

Also, some clarification for the Xbox One controller. If I get the WIRED Xbox One controller, it’s both wired AND wireless, correct? And it takes batteries and I can use rechargeable AAs, too?

Steam has great controller support. You can add any game as a non-steam game and configure your controller inputs. Give that a go.

Refer back to the other thread where we spent tons of time explaining it to you, lol.
