Hi pc:
12900K with NZXT KRAKEN X73
2x16GB DDR4 KINGSTON DDR4 3600MHZ in GEAR 1
RTX 3090 Ti Gigabyte Gaming
Aorus Z690 Elite DDR4 bios F5
SSD 1 TB NVM PCIE
Seasonic 1300W PX Prime Platinium
Control crashing randomly to desktop. App error in event logs:rlmdwin10 dll. No driver crash.
rl_rmdwin10_f.dll as fault in event viewer. Crash can happen or after 5 minute or after 30 minutes. But i started new game and crashing is more rarely, during 5 hours 1 crash only.
Cpu and gpu is on stock. Only XMP on 3600 in gear 1.
No errors in Karhu Ram test. No errors in HCI MEMTEST. Other games no crashing.
Tested Metro Exodus Enhanced,Quake 2 rtx, Cyberpunk 2077,Watch Dogs Legion,Crysis 3 Remastered,Battlefield 5,3dmark â no crashing
Only Control. I tried to windows 11 but still crashing. Even no raytracing, low details, the same crashing.
I read somewhere to disable e-cores maybe? But i dont know how to do that.
On my previous platform with 10850K Control was not crashing. Now on 12900K crashing. Thx
I will respect all answers, But for me doubt it that is XMP related. ALL OPINIONS OPEN
Because alder lake has different cpu architecture between the p and e cores and various copy protection schemes and possibly other code may have issues on it.
Its something that is a 5 minute check that is easily reversed if it does nothing to help.
Further reasoning - sometimes when troubleshooting if you have no idea you look for the different things and start from there to try and make it the same as a known good platform. Something different from what the software expects or something broken in your build is causing it to crash. Not necessarily a problem with your box, but in how the software handles it.
We know it runs fine on same-architecture platforms from reviews and testing when rtx3000 was new.
I know it works fine on my system which is AMD and no different cores in the box.
@GigaBusterEXE I wouldnât put too much effort into assisting @sew3333 with this thread. He has this exact same topic open at over dozen other forums dating back to Sunday. Heâs been told time and time again to disable ecores and XMP but just argues with everyone, says itâs fixed, or pretends itâs a new issue on another board.
