(I'm new to the these forums, so if I'm breaking any rules sorry)
Hello
I want to contact my mayor about getting fiber into New York City. I recall Logan, Wendel, and possibly Qain talking about this at one point. I want to inform my mayor about how to do it and the benfits.
If I recall correctly, it will help local buisness, but I forgot how.
Also, if you can tell me all the other benefits of having fiber, I would appreciate it.
If, you guys could help refresh my memory on this and help me better inform my mayor. I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

Oh wow i think what you are doing is really cool. I also live in the New York City. The other benefits of fiber is how the infrastructure in New York City affect the whole tri-state area witch is a huge amount of people. It is amazing that the biggest city in the world does not have the fastest internet. Also because New York has such a huge amount of businesses in it. For example in Texas where Google fiber is the main use of the internet is for civilians. But imagine how many businesses you would affect with this fiber and how much more productive they can be. Also New-York needs fiber because the bandwidth is shared between so many people that we need all the bandwidths, Happy to help and i hope u actually contact Deblasio and make him do something useful instead of shoveling snow. :D
in Multiple Tek Episodes Wendell has stated that The Fibre Infrastructure helps productivity, Data Speeds, Download Speeds and raises the bandwidth as stated above. I'm also a resident of New York City (Brooklyn) and I'm pretty sure you guys know from experience but Time Warner and Optimum have control of the New York City Area at least from my experience. and their speeds are total horse-shit. but this is an excellent idea. and it's good DeBlasio is in Office. if you would of done this when bloomberg was in office this would of been a failure of epic proportions lol.
Yeah, last Thursday, schools should have been closed. I don't know what the hell Carmen Farina was thinking, that bitch had the nerve to say "it was a beautiful day". As a bronx science student with an extremely hard commute to school, I would forgive DeBlasio for all the recent snowday bullshit if he put fiber in place.
because the area is urban. there aren't many "houses" here unless you live Deeply out of the City. there are Giant Project Buildings (Apartment Buildings) that can house about 200 families per buildings and there are Thousands of those types of buildings here across the 5 boroughs. most people assume that if you live in New York you live in Manhattan. this isn't the case. Manhattan is basically the "Hangout" place.
Even with these apartment buildings supporting numerous families they still have a lower population of Asian cities such as Tokyo and Shanghai. I guess I should rephrase my original post to not "how is NYC the biggest city in the world" but simply as a correction that it is not the biggest city in the world. In other words just a friendly correction.
yeah i know what you mean. I know it isn't the biggest city in the world not in the slightest. the population is fairly big though. about an approximate 8.4 Million in the New York City Area Alone from the 2012 Census.
