Okay the peasant part was a joke obviously... (it wasn't) but I just debated or argued with dozens of console fanboys and one guy said you have to spend 400$ evey three years and my reply was "Do you explode if you don't?" my reason for that is because sure you can spend that amount but you do not have to. This hurt my head. Do console fanboys annoy you. It is so hard to convert them. It's like talking to a christian about astronomy.
If you want to just sit down and play games, the consoles are a great option. They seriously are. You get hardware that works together and you know the games are going to work with no problems (mostly) out of the box.
The PC is more of an environment for people who like to know how the machine works and want to tweak and fiddle to pull every last drop of performance out of a machine or the people who want to have the BEST graphics and don't care about cost or the people who want to play across 3 monitors.
People who don't listen to a good debate about which is better are trolls. Or the initiator of the debate can not start a good debate. But anyways people each have their reasons for liking one or the other. You shouldn't get angry if someone defends their opinion, even if you think they are wrong.
I personally love my PC. However the consoles are a good option for people who just love games. Don't bash people for just wanting to play a god damn video game.

This. I've learnt to just be silent when a guy is telling me about the XBone he bought for $600 (some bundle or something).
Funny story about that guy actually:
He ordered an XBone online, for about $550. Then one day he was in town and saw that a store had them in stock (his still hadn't arrived), so he bought another one, for $550 again. That's $1100 now. He reckons he can cancel his first XBone even though it's already been dispatched. Literally A DAY afterwards the first XBone arrives. Now he's telling us he can sell it for $700 on eBay because it's the "Day One Edition"...
So... Yeah, I don't like to stereotype but I'd say atleast half of console gamers are pretty damn arrogant and annoying. However you really should just stay silent, the way I see it, if they're so certain that the console is better, then they deserve to waste their money on it.
Off topic. Seen you're doing your GCSEs and as you're 15 you probably haven't done any yet? I'm assuming. The only advice I can give you is revise your ass off. I swear don't procrastinate. I'm 16 doing my GCSEs in May/June and I procrastinate a lot. It's the only way you can do well. Not sure if you're the same. Good luck regardless.

Exactly. Bickering with gamers on the superiority of the platform you play on is a complete waste of time. In the case of PC gaming, It's like the king of a country leaving his throne and roaming the streets starting debates with homeless drunks in seedy alleyways on the merits of foreign policy strategy. By having these peasant debates, you're just bringing down yourself and the community to the level of a street urchin. Stay within the kingdom walls and enjoy the treasures within. Your happiness and self-confidence as king, will do more to convert a peasant to the kingdom than any argument could do. But of course, if a peasant is attempting to climb over the palisade seeking refuge, show him the path.
