"Official" thread for all types of console modding. Xbox Jtags, PS3 jailbreaks, physical mods, etc. Any cool things you have done to your consoles or console accessories, setups, etc. post them here! Pics are welcome. Personally PC gaming comes first for me, but I feel wierd having my Xbox sit here doing nothing. I just want some ideas. Also, I'd like to see the console modding crowd grow more here on Tek Syndicate. Go go go!!
I don't have any pictures, but I modded an Xbox 360 controller while back. I put in a modchip that I made using a pic microcontroller that would allow me to do rapid fire. You use the sync button on the back of a controller to change the motor clean full auto burst in SLO ca lotto and of course of. It would use the player for LED on the controller to indicate what mode and I'll try to steal feature which prevented the player for LED flashing up so no 1 would know that you have a modded controller. I also drove out the ABXY buttons and put LED the inside of them so they light up I change the player in Decatur to use blue lights and the middle of X would light up blue on the controller rumbled. I was going to do a custom paint jobs well, but someone offered me 100 dollars for the controller and I couldn't pass it up. Hope this all made sense I'm talking to my phone to write this lol. Would love to see some crazy things you all done.
by the way if you have any experience installing a hardware mod on a PlayStation 2 I'd love to hear about it because I have an old fat version that I'm willing to tear apart to mod.
well, that made no sense. Sadly my phone does not allow me to type in the text box because the page auto zooms in prevent me from seeing what I'm typing. I will edit that when I get home
Id love to mod my console, mine runs crazy hot (xbox 360 slim, halo reach edition)
I'm going to mod my broken NES case for a mini-ITX computer, eventually my ultimate challenge will be a SNES
Hey whenever you have free time and if you feel like it, could you research if it is possible to add more memory to the N64 and what the fastest, lowest timing, and amount of ram you can add using the Dimm port that the expansion pak goes into. If I can then that will help some of my future Retro ports look/run better with the help of a custom 3rd party expansion pak, similar to my "Super FX" 200Mhz Arm co-processor idea for the SNES retro ports, I wonder if the bottom expansion ports could be useful for anything?
When the new consoles come out I want to mod my Xbox 360 to be an HTPC/light gaming PC. I have an A8-3870k sitting in my closet doing nothing.
Oh, if anyone here wants a great timesink, go here; http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page
I've probably spent more time working on reversing the PS3 in the past year than playing it.
