Connecting SAS HHD

Hey guys,

 

So I recently bought a Western Digital 4TB harddrive which has a SAS connector at the back. I was wondering what other components I will need to get the hardrive up and running. I tried plugging in the hardrive with a SAS to SATA and Molex and pluging it into my motherboard (rampage iv extreme) however it was not recognised (obviosuly because I didn't have a SAS controller). I went and bought a SAS+SATA controller ( The Adaptec 6405E) and one of the Adaptec mSASx4- SASx4 cables. Will these two components be sufficent to get the hardrive working?

adaptec claims native windows 7 support, but if it dosen't work, here is their driver page for that device http://www.adaptec.com/en-us/support/raid/sas_raid/sas-6405e/
