I am to be a little negative, sorry to all the enthusiastic people here but why is this a thing ? Wasn’t there a project for ZFS on Linux to be fixed. Just work on that ?

If I am reading it correctly this would be smaller in scope or should be, thus allowing for more interests/projects to be represented. Could be a thing done every few months, like break a leg but more focused

Am I correct in this line of thinking @AnotherDev?

or are you just jealous of @SgtAwesomesauce

I’ll refrain from all polls until I get myself a PC - couple of weeks maybe.

Still interested.

Anyone interested in learning/implementing object oriented design patterns? Anyone want to use composition over inheritance? Anyone want to write abstract, loosely coupled code?

Anyone want to build an authentication service?

That’s a huge scope that’s more of a dream/end state scenario. A lot of folks on here are web devs or hobby devs. Doing anything with programming ZFS requires operating system knowledge, in great depth, and is a tall task. This is just something fun as @MFZuul suggested.

Yeah. Tired of all the JavaScript ones.

Cool. We could start simple and make it so it works in-memory only.

Then, If we’ve written it generic enough we should be able to hook it into a DB or other storage source by writing a few more concrete classes.

Someone else can take this over.
