As stated in the title, I've just finished installing my motherboard+CPU and plugged in the ethernet cable than when I booted my newly built computer, it won't connect to the internet, it states that there aren't any internet connections. Can someone help me? (Didn't know where to post this thread under.....) Thanks in advance!
Anyone know why this might be happening?
hmmmm..... is the cable bad? is it plugged in? try finding the drivers for your mobo's NIC
No, I've just bought the cable also, I've tried it with my old one that works, it still won't connect.
Did you install the drivers?
Have you Install the NIC drivers from the Cd that came with the motherboard ?
windows has bare-bones drivers built-in, but it doesn't hurt to install the full NIC drivers
check device manager and make sure windows is detecting your NIC it sounds like you may have forgotten to install the drivers
