Computer won't boot

This happened recently. Computer was doing fine for a while. Next day turn it on,  the motherboard lights are on and as I hit the power button the psu and fans spin once and instantly turns off. I hit the power button again but won't boot. I turn the psu off and back on again bt the same thing happens when I try to boot it up. I did the paper clip trick and it worked fine. It is only when I take out the GPU that it boots up. So does that mean my GPU is broken? And prior to this happening my comp would shut down randomly.

comp specs

cpu - amd fx 8350

gpu - evga gtx760

mobo - m5a99x evo r2.0

psu - evga supernova nex 650g

Try putting your GPU in the second PCIe slot.  Make sure everything is plugged in.

If the same problem occurs, try resetting the CMOS.  Do this by removing the battery on the motherboard, wait ~30s, and then put it back in.

Switched the gpu slots and reset the CMOS but it still spins once then powers off.

try using another video card, but it does seem like maybe your video card is broken, are you sure the power cable for the GPU is on correctly?

Sadly that is the only GPU I have and I'm sure I plugged it in correctly
