Computer shut off and wont turn back on, PLZ help

I was on my computer 30 minutes ago, and out of nowhere it shuts down. I wait a second and hit the power button, nothing. I use the power button on the motherboard, nothing. I tried plugging it into the wall, the surge protector, and I used a new power cord, still nothing. It has power because a blue light is on, and everything is plugged in the 24pin didnt pop out of the motherboard, and I mean i was literally using it when it shut off.

So please help I dont think its the power supply if there is a blue light and i was using the damn thing right before it shut off

780i
GTX 260
4gb Gskill DDR2
and 650w power supply

Im afraid im not the best person to help here but i had this problem with my old computer.

Where is this blue light? because if its on the motherboard then that shows that the power is being supplied and thus probably not the psu, however if it is like a light on the psu, there may be a problem with that as it is not able to supply to power (obv)...anyway can u try changing ur psu if u have a spare one lying about?

I have one of my stepdads friends round atm and hes a computer engineer, he says that if it isnt the power supply which it doesnt sound like it is to him, it may be the motherboard but thats unlikely. Just try switching the psu and if that doesnt work try the motherboard

Your 780i is dead. Turn the pc "on".. check if the motherboard gets hot.
First time I RMA'ed my 780i, It was a faulty molex cable that screwed my whole motherboard up.
What did you use it for when it shut down?

Where would i check if its hot?
and when i turn the switch on no fans turn on no beeps the LED screen that tells boot info doesnt come up with anything, absolutely NOTHING happens, lol.
and i had just installed a game, and then i started to play it, then i exited it, and right about the it just shut down

and the light that im talking about is on the motherboard showing that its getting power i guess

and i tried a different PSU, (300w) just plugging into mobo and hard drive to see if anything happened, but the motherboard light just flashed repeatedly and it didnt cut on, with the better PSU it doesnt, even tho it wont turn on

Its defineatly the motherboard.. but anyways.
just touch the motherboard on various places to see if it gets hot. Mine did.

Just rma the shit

god damnit this sux. lol
alright ill see if its hot

know any good motherboards?
you had to RMA a bunch i dont want to get another 780i

well let us know of your price range first, theres tons of great motherboards out but some are quite expensive. Also do you want no sli sli or tri sli?

try the 790i its only like 180 dollars.

SLi at least. but tri sli perferable.
and i guess max price would be like 220$

790i is BALLs

how do you figure? it was a very stable motherboard, had great reviews all around.

RMA and pray to god your warranty is still intact.

early 790is, especially the non-FTWs had super high failure rates, and particularly bad overclocking.

well.... i did have issues overclocking when i had it. every time i tried windows would bsod on boot until i reinstalled, although this was a year ago, i have gained a lot of experience. i guess i should try again.

On another note, the current 790i's is kickass for overclocking.

k well i may have an old one, if i send it back for rma do i get a new one? or is that just a shitty idea?
